I need some writers and photographers who are in the farm-to-table movement groove. I’ll be pulling content together for the spring and fall issues right now and need some specific story lines.
Interested Marketplace members MUST be Canadian and be able to express their connection to the magazine’s content. Articles and photos are needed in most categories (culture/history/travel, food/recipes, environment/wildlife, agriculture/farming, current events, home/design). Stories/book reviews will initially be assigned (300–1,500 words) though pitches and insider info on Canadian content is welcome.
The spring issue’s mega theme is re-purposing and renewal with features on building backyard pizza ovens, growing your own medicine cabinet, urban street farms, rooftop gardens, Michael Smith’s Bay of Fortune Inn (PEI) and adventure races across Canada.
Fall’s mega theme is reeducating and re-engagement with features on fall fair history, corn mazes, tree houses, building your own weather vane, DIY Swedish lanterns and firepits, growing ornamental cabbages and the Banff Mountain Film Fest.
